#5543: resolutions > 640x480 don't work on Dell Mini 10 w/ GMA500 aka poulsbo gfx ----------------------------------------------------------+----------------- Reporter: danboid | Owner: axeld Type: bug | Status: new Priority: normal | Milestone: R1/alpha2 Component: Drivers/Graphics/intel_extreme | Version: R1/Development Keywords: dell mini 10 gma500 poulsbo 800x576 1024x576 | Blockedby: Platform: x86 | Blocking: ----------------------------------------------------------+----------------- Comment(by danboid): I forgot to mention that the official i915resolution ( http://915resolution.mango-lang.org/ ) doesn't natively support the GMA500, instead it requires this patch: http://svn.exactcode.de/t2/trunk/package/contrib/915resolution/gma500.patch Then I can use i915resolution in conjunction with uvesafb and get 2D good enough for SD video playback, youtube etc. without using the flaky psb X11 driver. In fact I benchmarked them and uvesafb managed to outperform the 'proper' poulsbo X11 driver in many instances. Is this i915/GMA500 BIOS patching code any use to you getting the GMA500 working with the Intel Extreme or the VESA driver Axel? Fingers crossed us poulsbo users aren't SOL again - I'll assist with this however I can. -- Ticket URL: <http://dev.haiku-os.org/ticket/5543#comment:6> Haiku <http://dev.haiku-os.org> Haiku - the operating system.
