I've been delving into the menu keyboard nav issues and have noticed that
it doesn't matter if you use the keyboard to open the menu. You can open
the menu with the mouse and then "close" it with the escape key and it
will then not open with Alt+Esc.
With cursor left now used to close submenus I think it would make sense to
have escape close all menus. Especially since there is no way to do that
with the keyboard.
