I’ve only used Haiku Beta 4, if that answers your question. I first
installed it on my HP Pavilion dv7 laptop around the beginning of January,
this year. I remember asking a question about Haiku on the Haiku Telegram
channel on January 15th, and I mentioned the specific version I was
running, which when I refer back to the post, it was Haiku R1/Beta
(Revision hrev56578+65) x86_64. The PowerStatus icon would have been
working correctly on my machine at the time. I hope that helps.
