You can try stopping the mail_daemon in Terminal (quitting/killing it in
another way will restart it):

launch_roster stop x-vnd.Be-POST
}}}
Then re-start it from Terminal with {{{ /system/server/mail_daemon }}}
Be prepared for a flood of output...
