Good day,
I just changed the wifi card of the laptop from a Realtek [no chance to
get wifi working in a near future] to an Intel Dual band wireless
[listdev]:
{{{
device Network controller [2|80|0]
vendor 8086: Intel Corporation
device 24fb: Dual Band Wireless-AC 3168NGW [Stone Peak]
}}}
Running Haiku 64 bit latest [uname -a]:
{{{
Haiku shredder 1 hrev56193 Jun 17 2022 06:33:16 x86_64 x86_64 Haiku
}}}
ifconfig sees the device, of course, as well as Network preferences,
though shows no Address [ifconfig]:
{{{
/dev/net/idualwifi7260/0
Hardware type: Ethernet, Address: 00:00:00:00:00:00
inet addr: --, Bcast: --, Mask: --
MTU: 2294, Metric:0, up broadcast
Receive: 0 packets, 0 errors, 0 bytes, 0 mcasts, 0 dropped
Transmit: 0 packets, 0 errors, 0 bytes, 0 mcasts, 0 dropped
Collisions: 0
}}}
The Network preferences shows that the device is there but there is no
link, with "disconnected" Status and no wireless network found.
I verified that this card works with the rest of the hardware booting the
laptop from another hard drive with linux and it did connect to the
network.
Therefore:
1- The hardware is properly recognized by Haiku
2- Expected behavior: detect and connect to available wireless networks
3- Observed behavior: no network found by the driver
4- Disable the device and re Enable it causes a trip to kdebug:
{{{
PANIC: ASSERT FAILED (../haik-git/src/add-
ons/kernel/drivers/network/wlan/idualwifi7260/dev/pci/if_iwm.c:10395):
sc->task_refs.r_refs==0
}}}
I'll add a picture later.
Regards,\\
RR
