Running {{{profile -f}}} of {{{git status}}} revealed that while syscall
functions show in the output, kernel functions invoked by the syscalls do
not appear at all. Conversely, running {{{profile -a -S}}} and then e.g.
resizing windows shows no hits whatsoever either in the relevant
applications or in app_server.
