Yes, and it does, subject to the time-out setting. It works as expected.
Example: Password is set to be required in 30 seconds after screensaver
activation. Click test. Wait 30 seconds. Password is required. Password
will not be required if you interrupt the screensaver prior to waiting 30
seconds.
I don't think there's any issues here.
