Comment (by Giova84):

Well, odd behaviour: firstly I burned hrev50424 on a disc (so to test a
clean installation of Haiku) and I found the same issue: no sound from the
output of my sound card; then I'm back on my installation and I attempted
to install the modified HDA driver which Pete Goodeve gave me years ago
(this one: https://dev.haiku-os.org/ticket/9134), then the sounds was
udible again as usual; then, again, I removed the driver (booting Haiku
with user addons disabled, since the driver installed under /home was in
use), reboot to my Haiku installation and the sound was again present and
usdible, so I suspect that this issue could be related to the HDA driver
instead of to the Media Server.
