I respectfully disagree. That green dot is tiny (3x3 on my screen!), and I
believe the networking replicant is not installed in the deskbar by
default - the user needs to run it manually from Desktop applets first and
decide whether to run it from the desktop or as an app window (sorry, it's
been a while since I installed to a clean partition, so that might no
longer be true).
If the replicant was installed by default and someone redesigned it to be
a little more clear (read, BIGGER) I could support this idea.
What bugs me is the way the notification (all notifications, actually)
obstructs the Deskbar for a second or two before I can start working.
Can't it be moved to the opposite side? That might also solve the OP's
problem.
