Nice fix! Testing hrev49332 now (i'll do DHCP and static network configs).
I spent an hour or two looking at that code and it just didn't seem right
to me in a lot of ways... however I was lacking too much knowledge on the
network stack to fix (and I didn't have the free time to dig into it)
