I believe RNDIS is the protocol used by Android to do USB connection
tethering. FreeBSD has this so can it not just be 'borrowed'? I use it
frequently (under Linux) when I'm using my laptop away from home and its
also very useful for those who have unsupported network devices but they
have a data connection on their phone.
