Back in the earlier gcc 4 days I had a quick look at the Haiku specific
thread support and found that it could use improvement. Our pthread
support is better these days than when the code was introduced, so we
might actually want to aim for switching to the pthread code instead. A
few needed things might still be missing, though (barrier support (?) and
IIRC it used some GNU extension(s) we might want add as well). This
definitely deserves some review.
