Acrylic good, polycarb bad. If you don't have an ID label use a pair of pliers to try and break off a corner. If it snaps like glass it's probably acrylic, if it just bends it's probably polycarb.

We use polycarb for shielding on the lasersaur, and "it hates lazers" is reason #1. :-)
