combo things for the winter.
Moldover (AKA Matt the instrument maker from SF who came up to do this
a year or two but then got food poisoning) wants to come do a makeup show.
For those of you who weren't here then: Matt builds his own instruments &
controllers that emphasize play, and makes a fusion of rock/electronic
music using them. He also creates instruments meant for groups of people
to
jam with. He'd be diving into his process of creating / performing music,
and then give a performance.
Graftician (AKA Roxanne) is a local Vancouver artist who also builds
her own instruments (though they are radically different than Matt's).
When
she performs, in addition to her live music performances - she also
integrates live visuals using footage that she's shot to sync with the
music. (She actually shot one such video in our atrium in the past!) - She
would likewise give a talk on her process, followed by a live A/V
performance.
Matt is planning on being in Vancouver in later November, and the
available dates for presenting him would be: Friday Nov 16th in the
evening, Saturday the 17th in the afternoon/evening, or Monday the 19th in
the evening.
Roxanne & I were chatting about Thursday December 13th (Wed the 12th
is also an option).
Would everybody be open to hosting these events? These would each be
around 2 hours of sound, with 1-2 hours of setup/breakdown total. Sound
should be wrapped up by 11-11:30 for each (can be earlier if needed), and
expected attendance would be somewhere between 10-20 people for each
performance (likely on the lesser side).
If people are down - do the suggested dates conflict with anything?
