Kirigami Rectangle Window Decoration

This rectangle window decoration is easy to make and requires only a sheet of
paper and a pair of scissors. The resulting project can be glued in front of
card stock to make a one-of-a-kind greeting card. Alternatively, the decoration
can be taped to a window; the sun shines through the layers of paper to make a
great design. This project can also be done with a square piece of paper or a
triangle.

Start with a rectangular sheet of paper. Fold in half lengthwise.
Cut the paper at an angle as shown. The actual angle is not critical, though a
45 degree angle works well (cut at a diagonal). Cut multiple slits each
parallel to one another.
Carefully unfold the paper. You will see multiple cuts in the shape of an
upside down "V".
Starting from the bottom of the paper, fold the first upside down V downward.
Leave the second "V" as it is. Fold the third V downwards.
Repeat folding every other "V" downwards to give a repeating pattern. Optional:
tuck the tips of the V under the paper to give an interlocking pattern.
Shown is a window decoration on black backing (left) and stuck on a backing
which allows sun to shine through. Note that parts of the decoration are darker
than others due to the multiple layers of paper which the light shines through.
