Ah Harold, You touched on the one possible benefit of sequestering the blind into their own school they all helped each other. I would rather see our educational systems teaching our kids to do this in the mainstream regardless of the needs of one versus the other. This would set the stage for adults that were more caring about the needs of one another and less selfish and self-centered. Maybe I need to hit my head and wakeup, but that's what God would have us do I am sure. He did say whatever you failed to do for the least of these you failed to do for me! When he addressed those judged deficient in Revelation in the second coming. Now as before losing sight, if we are out to dinner and get approached by someone claiming to be hungry we take offer to accompany them to an eatery and buy a meal, never hand out money, too many drunks and drug addicts for that. I am however, convinced that if the less fortunate were universally in the regular classes and the regular students, whoever they might be, were forced to show care and concern and help these students our world would be a better place. Ah but that will never happen, we're too bleedin busy making sure we don't present alternative lifestyles in a negative manner to insist that those who have no choice in where they are be assisted by those blessed with full capabilities.
