Have you tried any of Alan Dean Foster's "Spellsinger" fantasies from RNIB?
I know they are a bit off the wall, but I like them - not as much as Pratchett,
but that goes without saying!

If you like fantasy books try Percy Jackson And The Lightning thief by Rick
Riordan which is the first in a whole series. It is available through the RNIB
Talking Book Library and to buy from Amazon and bookdepository.co.uk
It is my favourite book.
