Hi, Jenny. The only Valor stove I remember was a paraffin heater. We used them in the winter to heat the bedrooms. I've a feeling Health and Safety would go spare at the thought of them nowadays! And, yes, filling the coal bucket was a pain...especially in the winter, and the freezing rain and snow. I remember cursing that blasted coal bunker as I used the pick to separate the coal from the ice! -----Original Message----- From: Jenny Coupe - Email Address: jenny@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent On: 13/09/2012 11:42 Sent To: guide.chat@xxxxxxxxxxxxx - Email Address: guide.chat@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [guide.chat] Fire Does anyone remember the black Valour stove? we had one on very cold nights, it gave a pattern on the ceiling and a smell of its own My job was to fill the coal bucket, unfortunately I had a very bad tempered mother who would shout if I or my brothers did not notice that the damn bucket was empty. Thank goodness for central heating. Jenny C ----- No virus found in this message. Checked by AVG - www.avg.com Version: 2012.0.2221 / Virus Database: 2437/5265 - Release Date: 09/12/12
