Yesterday, SB 167 was defeated for this session. So, that is a great feat for
now.
SB 372 passed in the House committee with changes. So, the change is one way
to solve our problem with it.
Code Section 20-2-157 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to a
uniform reporting system for certain purposes and academic eligibility
requirements to receive a HOPE scholarship, is amended by adding a new
subsection to read as follows:
"(g) At the conclusion of each school year, the local school system shall
provide to each freshman, sophomore, and junior student or to his or her parent
or guardian the grade point average calculated by the Georgia Student Finance
Commission in accordance with the provisions of this Code section for
determining HOPE eligibility."
