latch
Hello to fellow gardeners, Due to a common malady of us +75'rs, that
of believing we could still work as s 45 year old, my backyard
renovation took 5 weeks instead of 1 week. Therefore the plots 1,2&4
appeared abandoned and certainly not up to the standards beinģ set by
my fellow gardeners. I am now am making strides to correct that and
will hopefully enjoy the fruits of my labor in November instead of
August. I aldo sadly have found my inventory of powder coated tomato
cages at 0 instead of 8. Hopefully no light fingered thief will go
after my gilded in rust 15 year old attic reserves now installed in my
garden. It is nice to have water available even if I do have to drag
the hose 100 feet to get my garden watered. When I was on the garden
committee I bought and installed the two hose racks so that all
gardeners in the east garden would have water no more than 30 feet
away. 100 feet (approximately) seems less than equal water rights.
Happy Gardening, Bill Moss

Dear Gardeners,
I made a video to explain how to use the new gate latch, which I
installed last night.

Please watch, be gentle with the latch, it does not need to be
forced, and do not bend the new wire.
I also greased the latch pin, so do not touch.
Thanks,

Tonight I dumped the rocks in the driveway that were in the Kate's
wagon..
I raked more into 2 piles that need to be sifted.
I turned the soil in the plot. It took most of the rocks out. May
need another raking.

Karen,
I saw the plot and Bills wheelbarrow filled with rocks and was
wondering what was going on. how about setting up a screen or a grate
as a filter to get the rocks out faster and easier? If you need help
let me know

Hi Karen, I am E-18 and I am sorry to see what you are going
through! I wonder if a box and lots of new soil on top of that would
be good. That way you might be able to leave the stone. Just a
thought. ~ Celeste

Hi Diane,
I’m in plot e20 and I’m having a terrible time trying to clear it
out and turn the soil. A previous gardener filled it with crushed
marble. Even after raking, I can’t sink a shovel in because the
stones go really deep. My garden neighbor Kate has been working on it
with me. She brought over a wheelbarrow and it’s half filled with
stones. There is at least that much more still on/in the ground.
Can I get some help with this? I was only able to plant half the
plot.
Thanks!
Karen
