Michael, I am saddened by your news. Not just that you won't be
volunteering at GRCO, but that you are moving to Milwaukee. I am sure your
warm personality will get you through those cold winter observing
sessions. You have been great, especially with young children, because
your passion for their education comes through. I hope you will continue
as a NASA ambassador, and that you find a similar astronomy outlet in your
new home.

I cannot stress how much I have enjoyed working at the observatory for the
past 12 years alongside so many dedicated, enthusiastic, and knowledgeable
folks (I learned something new each night we shared the skies with the
public). I also thoroughly enjoyed sharing the night skies with
our visitors (well ... 98% of them - it was getting harder to bite my
tongue when the anti-science, 'young Earth', Apollo denier crowd showed up)
and am very proud to have helped (hopefully) educate and inspire the folks
who came up the path to visit. If I ever win the lottery, I would spend
a portion of it replicating the GRCO to other towns throughout the country
as I firmly believe the investment of out time and effort to educate,
entertain, and inspire the public has been worth every penny spent on GRCO
and every minute spent there.
I am still happy to keep updating the GRCO website as a way to stay
connected.

Can't believe we are halfway through the year. Just think, Christmas is
in 6 months - that thought will help you feel cooler. (yeah, it's still
