Pagan River Challenge will start at 10:00 AM, Sunday, May 22nd. Eight
boats are entered.

Tranquility (Capt Tom Orlowski) will be committee boat. Starts will be
determined by GPS time. Committee will monitor channel 71. There will be
no signals from boat.

10:00 - Preparatory
10:05 - Warning
10:10 - First Start (Highest Rated Boat(s))

This will be a staggered start. I have calculated a start time based on
handicap for each of two courses.

Course A will be used if forecast winds are at least 8 knots. Course A
starts with a line between the Committee boat and the R"2" at Blunt Point
entrance to Deep Creek. From there, leave the G"1" Can near west of the
James River Bridge to starboard and finish between Pagan River R"2" and the
Pagan River G"3" marking the entrance to the Pagan River. Distance is 5.25
miles.

Course B will be used if forecast is for less than 8 knots. Course B starts
with a line between the Committee boat and the R"2" at Blunt Point entrance
to Deep Creek. From there, finish between the Pagan River R"2" and the
Pagan River G"3" marking the entrance to the Pagan River. Distance is 2.8
miles.

Here are the start times for boats entered this far: (Also on website)

In order to be counted, you must start within 10 minutes of your starting
time. Finish will be boat for boat. There may not be a committee boat on
station at the finish, so please e-mail me your finish position and the name
of the boat finishing ahead of you (if any) and the name of the boat
finishing behind you (if any).

I look forward to racing with you all this year. For those planning to
overnight at Warwick, I plan to arrive late afternoon/early evening.

I have nice plaques for first, second, and third place boats. So good luck
and good sailing.

John
