United does indeed offer a feed from the flight deck, at least they did a short time ago when I flew from Washington Dc back to Seattle. The flight went by quickly as I was quite intertained with GPS, the voice note with it's radio, and of course the feed from the flight deck. Not sure if the same is offered on international flights, but have been on many United domestic flights where that was available via the head-set hook ups. I've flown on flights (I'm thinking it was united) where you were able to listen to the air to ground communication and all the vectors and changes. If you had that audio information and a live GPS feed plus some understanding of the possible flight plans filed (wonder if they are available publically on the internet you could get that in real time on your cell) you should in theory be able to nail it. This also tells me I should get out more.:) ----- Original Message ----- From: "Michael May" <MikeMay@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <gps-talkusers@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Wednesday, April 16, 2008 8:22 PM Subject: [gps-talkusers] half way to anywhere > It is interesting because they say it is 2398 flight miles between SFO and > Honolulu airports.
