Well, if no other reason occurs to you, it's true that moisture in the sky above you (specifically between you and the satellites) absorbs satellite signals. This is why you loose contact sometimes when you go into a heavily forested area, it's actually all the moisture in the tree canopy that's the problem. So why am I telling you this? Because of the totally incomprehensible thing which happened with the Delorme. I took my dog for a short walk as it hadn't actually begun to rain until we were into our walk. I turned on the Delorme and set off and was out about 20 minutes. Not once did the receiver hoan into a signal, not once. It was working and we heard the sound of it trying to obtain a satellite signal but I never picked any signals up. Is something like that possible? I thought those satellites were all over the world. I have only encountered something like this one other time with theAtlas Speaks gps 3 years ago. Very strange, this. Just wanted you all to know about this mystery. Mary Ellen Earls =========================================================== $6.95 .com Domain Name Sale! Limited Time!
