Update for all who are a bit desperate and use it every day like me:
Youtube channel downloads in GPO are possible when the youtube-dl extension is
disabled in the GPO settings. To my joy, even choosing formats (in my case M4a
audio files) is working fine. Guess it’s a workable solution for now until we
know more?

Hello all
Since today GPO isn’t downloading youtube channels anymore. I noticed on
youtube-dl’s homepage that the music industry has set it’s eyes on this
program. Though on youtube-dl’ hompage it says that downloading is still
possible it seems that it’s not possible to download entire channels at the
moment, even when using youtube-dl standalone without GPO.
Do you guys know a workaround for GPO? The only way I can think of at the
moment would be disabling the youtube-dl extension.
By the way, I wouldn’t mind have to pay a reasonable fee, if it would be the
only way to maintain the youtube-dl option in GPO. I’m a professional
musician after all - but I doubt it’s a right way to enforce Tantiems this
way and won’t really solve the problem in the end. Only a hand full of big
musicians are profiting from this money which the music industry is after,
imho.
Thanks if you can have a look at the new situation with youtube-dl and if
something can be done for it to work again in GPO.
