50/50 here....
Works fine in vanilla Chrome.
Broken in Firefox (that's probably my NoScript blocking the ad that starts
before the video though).
Either way, not getting the same thing you do, but I did find this:

I saw a Youtube option in the "add subscription", so that might be a
workaround...
