[gpodder] Fw: [Bug 1878] New: "Sync to device" does not indicate sync progress

A bug has been reported (a while back, unfortunately) about the fact that there
is no notification when a device sync finishes. I remember a 'GTK Desktop
notification' extension that would display notifications for a sync finishing
(as well as other things) when it was enabled. This extension may been a
solution to the bug as it's currently described.

However, this extension doesn't seem to be an option in gPodder preferences any
more, and there's no link for it in the gPodder wiki:

http://wiki.gpodder.org/wiki/Extensions

Anyone know what happened?

Thanks,

Joseph

Subject: [Bug 1878] New: "Sync to device" does not indicate sync progress

https://bugs.gpodder.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1878

            Bug ID: 1878
Summary: "Sync to device" does not indicate sync progress
    Classification: Unclassified
           Product: gPodder
           Version: 3.5.1
          Hardware: PC
                OS: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: low
         Component: Portable device synchronization
          Assignee: jnwickremasinghe@xxxxxxxxx
          Reporter: guitargodlee@xxxxxxxxx
                CC: thp@xxxxxxxxxxx

In version 2 when syncing to usb drive a progress bar would be displayed in a
dialog. That feature is gone in version 3.

My use case is this.

I use gpodder to get audio (mp3) podcasts that I then sync to a usb drive which
I then plug into my car and listen to podcasts on my commute.

The currently functionality in version 3 works however you have no indication
that syncing in complete.

I am willing to help out any way I can to fix this. I have some codeing skills.
At the very least I am willing to test and document the feature.
