Emergency Triathlon on Eastern Beach 

Members from a variety of emergency services displayed their might as part
of the Victoria Police and Emergency Service Games held at Eastern Beach.

Around 80 members from services ranging from the Police, SES, CFA, and
ambulance through to the Department of Sustainability and Environment, swam,
cycled and ran around the esplanade on a course design to test some
competitors and challenge those more serious ones.

 

Flame Festival Sets Whittington Alight

 

The third annual FlameFest, held at Whittington Link brought together
family, friends and neighbours on  

World Harmony Day for a festival to unite the Whittington community.
Students from Newcomb Secondary College and Whittington Primary School made
giant puppets and paper lanterns that lit up bright faces during the final
parade. giant 

 

Satellite Launch to Study Gravity

 

The European Space Agency has launched the first of six satellites to tell
us more about the Earth's internal structure. The latest project continues a
path of scientific enquiry started by  scientist Sir Isaac Newton in the
17th century.
