Locals Get Pumped for Masters Games Enthusiastic sports men and women bustled into Skilled Stadium on Tuesday to collect their accreditation and kit for the week long Australian Masters Games set to begin tomorrow. The excitement was spilling over as local competitors prepared to meet thousands from around Australia. COGG Community Update Geelong's Impetus Awards, aimed at recognising and celebrating young people who have, and still are, making significant contributions in the community is returning for a second year running. Held on the 2nd of April, the awards will honour people aged between 12 and 25. Lake Purrumbete Gets Boat Ramp After a much publicised rally the Camperdown residents are over the moon with a decision by Parks Victoria and the Department of Primary Industries to install a temporary boat ramp on the shores of Lake Purrumbete. The anglers are pretty happy about it too! Geelong Digs Deep Geelong residents have been donating time and goods to help the people affect by the bush fires in central Victoria. Volunteers have been streaming to Breakwater to help package clothing, toys and food in the hope of providing a little relief in the face of such a tragedy.
