Lindsey,
If you have vocal lines with lyrics, I recommend setting all the staves to a
size 4. This will reduce the font size for any lyrics and annotations
attached to that staff, and make it that much easier to read.
You'll want to keep the music fairly spaced out, but not so much that it's
hard to follow. Generally, for an SATB score with a piano grand staff,
you'll want 4 measures per system, 2 systems per page, with all staves at
size 4. Any more staves than that and you'll need to go to one system per
page.
Another thing that helps separate the systems a little more is to insert
system separators in the Options dialogue (Alt, e, o). Also in options,
remove the check next to "Print file name on each page".

The best thing you can do is find a sighted study-buddy to look at the score
and make suggestions. For very large scores, I would set the paper size to
11 by 17 (printable area: 15.5 by 10.1, landscape mode). Download a free
copy of CutePDF and print the piece to a PDF file. Then take the file to
Kinko's or OfficeMax or wherever and have them print it for you, front and
back, on 11 by 17 paper.

I hope this helps.
I'll be glad to look at any pieces you are working on and offer suggestions
and feedback.
Sincerely,
Andy English

Hi Andy.

I was reading this last email, and thanks for all of the labeling
info. I have been trying to notate pieces like a vocal score,
with words and notes on each part. Thanks for saying that you
need to move the number of points to the lefet of the staff to
100 so you'll have room for your labels. How do you make it so
that you can see all of the notes and the words? What other
formatting stuff do I need to do? I have been messing around with
it for a while but still can't make it so that a sighted person
can read the score. Any input would be very helpful, as I will
have to do this for a project in school. THanks.

Lindsey
