To hear your Lime score play back at the current tempo, press CONTROL+DOWN
ARROW. This command plays the piece back from the current bar and beat. When
you press the escape key or playback ends, you are positioned at the bar and
beat where you began. During playback, you have no option to alter the tempo.
For greater control of playback tempo and to choose whether you want a playback
metronomic click, Use CONTROL+H to initiate Lime's Hear dialog. The Hear
dialog offers options to turn the metronome click on or off and to set its
relative volume. You can even set a count-in value to prepare you to be ready
to play or sing along.
In multi-part scores, you can use this dialog to select or unselect the parts
you want to hear. You can alter the overall percentage of the playback tempo
by changing the value in the very first field of this dialog.
On pressing ENTER to close the Hear dialog, playback begins and the music
tracks in sync. Pressing escape positions you roughly at the bar and beat
position where playback ended. While the music is tracking, you can use the
CONTROL key with left bracket to gradually reduce tempo and with right bracket
to gradually increase tempo. Multiple presses will probably be necessary
before you notice a change in tempo.
My recommendation would be to spend some time experimenting with both of these
playback options until you become comfortable with how they work. I use both
methods often depending on what I need to accomplish while studying or creating
Lime scores.
