Hi, You can configure GOODFEEL's Transcription Options to begin each parallel with a measure number. Run GOODFEEL Options | Transcription Options Or press ALT+O, and then ENTER Tab to checkbox that says Begin each parallel with measure number And press space bar to check Tab to Save as Defaults Button and press space. Until you uncheck that field, GOODFEEL will place the starting measure number at the start of each line of words or at start of the music line for instrumental solo pieces. GOODFEEL always shows bar numbers for keyboard pieces and full scores. It would not be practical to label each measure with a measure number. If you really want to do it for select situations, you would have to insert what Lime calls a rehearsal marker in front of each and every measure in the piece. The resulting braille would be challenging to read even for an experienced reader. I recommend the setting described above. If the band director tells the group to start at bar 27, the braille reader can run his finger down the left margin of the score and find the number that is closest to 27. Let's say it's 24. Then he can count across the line until he finds 27. The rehearsal markers should be inserted wherever one appears in the print score. Marker s indicate the start of major sections of the piece. They can be numeric, alphabetic or even be words or phrases such as "Trio" or "A Tempo." Use Annotations | Text Category | Rehearsal or ALT+A, T, R To insert a marker. The teacher is requesting each measure be labeled. Is there a way to do this? Denise Reno Braille Transcriber Port Huron Area School District
