Hi!
I didn't know of Lisette Wesseling until I read this post. I'm sure she
will be missed.
I was able to hear samples of Lisette's music on Amazon. If you'd
like to listen to her beautiful voice and the instrumental medieval music,
too, follow this link:

Some of you were blessed to know Lisette, as I was. She was a talented singer, teacher, braille music transcriber and author who was a tireless advocate for braille music literacy and a contributor to our lists over the years. She was one of the first blind musicians I met during my first visit to London back in November, 1998. I am so pleased that she published her book, Focus on Braille Music, which has no doubt helped many readers in the UK and around the world. I remember encouraging her to write the book for readers of braille music produced according to the standards published by the Braille Authority of the United Kingdom.

My heart and my prayers are with Lisettes husband, Neil, and all of her loved ones. May she rest in peace.
Below, I will include a link to her online obituary where you may leave a comment if you wish followed by the text of a brief note to me from our colleague and customer, Jordie Howell that gives links to connect with the online presentation of Lisettes memorial service. If I have it right, listeners in the United States can hear it at 7 PM on Sunday evening, September 18. That will be midnight in London.

[excerpt from note to me from Jordie Howell]:
It is with deep sadness that I write to inform you of the passing of Lisette Wesseling on Monday after a four-year battle with cancer. She was just 44 years old.
Lisette was a beautiful soprano. She studied in her home of New Zealand before moving to Melbourne and then London to take up a scholarship at the Guild Hall School of Music. Lisette was a very skilled braille music specialist, both as a transcriber of her own material and working both with vocal, piano and all formats. She wrote a book entitled Focus on Braille music and also taught for many years. Lisette released a CD in 2013 which is available online and I'll provide details if youd like them.
Lisette's funeral will be held in Wellington, New Zealand on Monday. It will be streamed online. Details are provided below.
May Lisette rest in peace.
