Hi, Sandra,

We need to add the answers below to an updated FAQ on using Lime with Lime
Aloud.

Q. How can I change the clef of a part in Lime?

A. To change the clef of any given part, take the following steps:

Arrow up or down until you move to the part that needs the new clef. Press
V to make sure that you are focused on the part that you want to change.

Press CONTROL+F to open the Clef dialog.

Arrow up or down in the list of clefs and when you hear the one you want to
change to, just press ENTER>

As Albert wrote, you can use Lime's Parts and Voices dialog to reorder the
position of each part.

Q. How do I move a part to a different position in the system?

A.

ALT+V, V to open the Parts and Voices dialog.

Arrow down through the list of part names to make sure that you are focused
on the name of the part you want to move.

JAWS sometimes reads more than necessary in this list. To verify which part
name you have highlighted, press INSERT+TAB.

Press ALT+V which is the shortcut to the "Move" button.

If JAWS says to press INSERT+ESCAPE, do so to refresh the screen. Then
press INSERT+UP ARROW to read the current line.

JAWS should say "Move staff to which position in the list."

Enter the number of the position where you want to move the highlighted part
name. For example, if you are currently focused on the second staff in the
list and you want that staff to move to the third position, type the number
3 into the edit field.

Press ENTER.

Lime should return to the list of part names and JAWS should read the new
position information. But JAWS will probably chatter on about other parts
in the list. Press INSERT+TAB to repeat just the information that verifies
that your change has been made.

Hi,

You can move parts around in the Parts and Voices menu and you can also use
Copy Measures to copy whole parts but I recommend making a backup copy of
your piece first. It might actually be easier and clearer to start with a
blank piece and copy everything in correctly from what you have now.

Give it a shot and then e-mail us your file off the list if you still need
help with this.

Albert

Hello again,
I'm back with another Lime mess. I wrote a piece starting off with the piano
and then added a couple of voice parts. The snag is that it put the treble
into the bass cleff. I didn't notice even though Jaws kept saying it, untill
I had practically finished. Please tell me I don't have to copy it out from
scratch into another score! By the way, how do I stop lime adding new parts
underneath the previous ones. For example, the voice parts in the this
particular score have been entered directly under the left hand of the
piano.

 Best wishes,
Sandra.
