hello Ram ji.
Well I think this can be handled.
The team will discuss this on Monday in the regular team meet so that we
see from our side what best can be done.
happy that it has worked.
Now you can enjoy the advanced features added in this version.
Automated accounting entries for sales and purchase invoice, chart of
accounts etc.
Regards.
GNUKhata team.

Hi Friends
To say that the issue has been resolved
*Seems like some add on's firefox were preventing gnukhata from loading*
I tried to open http://localhost in Chromium while i stil got the same Gnukhata screen i randomly tried clicking and gnukhata opens
I tried the same think on an private window in firefox and it worked there as well. So I turned the add ons off (reset firefox) and tried and now it works in Firefox as well - albeit without the addons
Now that I know the add ons are causing an issue I would install my usual addons and see which one affects gnukhata
thanks for the help
kind regards

Hi
Right now, for the version 5.10, I have the offline installer, the
online installer, the update tool and the uninstaller.
What should I do -
the net connection exists and will probably manage an online install.

My understanding is that once the uninstall tool has been used the
process of new installation should start from scratch.
But it seems (over the many versions of Gnukhata that I have
tried) that every time I try and updater it breaks the install and
then I have a right merrygo round getting the new install to work
Am wondering if (in my case i.e Linux Mint) that the process is
better to uninstall completely the old version using the old
uninstaller and they do a fresh new install.
However right now am unable to find a version 5.0 uninstaller (so
may i request someone to send me the tool)
thanks

Hi Abhijit
That is what I did (do)
However having already done this how should I proceed.
I have run the uninstaller after each failed install
Now how should I proceed

Hi!
Thank you for giving such detailed information. We will
follow the steps and try to see if we face the problem at
our end.
This is what is to be done to run the installer.
chmod 755 GNUKhataOnlineInstaller.sh
sudo ./GNUKhataOnlineInstaller.sh
The install.sh opens a gtk window that has license and a
button that triggers the above shell script.

Subsequent to the above mail I have run the online installer
While running that this is the message I get
$ sudo ./install.sh
[sudo] password for ram:
Gtk-Message: GtkDialog mapped without a transient parent.
This is discouraged.

Once again gnukhata seems installed but is at the frozen
screen
FYI and necessary advice

Hi
Am starting a new thread so that the full details are
in one place.
Am using gnukhata on a Linux Mint 18.3 install
$ cat /etc/issue
Linux Mint 18.3 Sylvia \n \l
I had a working Gnukhata version 5.0
After the release of gnukhata 5.10 I downloaded the
updater and ran it
Subsequent to that gnukhata freezes at a localhost
page (as attached below) - which is how it keeps
reverting to
***
After emailing the list it was recommended to run
the updater again. Which I did and the result was the
same.
Next I downloaded the uninstaller and ran that and it
showed me the following
$ sudo ./uninstall.sh
[sudo] password for ram:
gnukhata
gkmain
gkmain

GNUKhata has been uninstalled
Next I downloaded the*full off line version* and ran
that
Again I am sent back to the frozen gnukhata screen
Once again I ran the uninstaller and and*ran the
online installe*r
Once again after successful install I am back to the
local host frozen gnukhata screen
