So have put aside a dedicated machine for gnukhata
it runs Linux Mint 17.3
After a fresh Linux install the first software i installed was gnukhata
below is the log

It is possible for me to install teamviewer on this and will do so
when broadband reverts
but why this error
this is the same error that appears in the other Linux Mint installs
further as per earlier discussions 17.3 is fully supported ? -
am wondering if it is because we are using Linux Mint Mate editions
and other are using some other interface (cinnamon maybe)
