If you are interested in an internship here at NASA Langley, check out the following program (let me know if you apply): Mike Chapman ============= Recruiting for 2008 LARSS Program Recruitment for the 2008 Langley Aerospace Research Summer Scholars (LARSS) Program is currently in full-swing. NASA employees are encouraged to share information regarding the LARSS program with their contacts at colleges, universities, and societies, specifically student chapters, inviting applicants from these organizations to apply. The LARSS web site is http://research.nianet.org/larss. The LARSS Program is managed for NASA by the Virginia Space Grant Consortium under the auspices of the National Institute of Aerospace. This program invites college students who are U.S. Citizens, rising juniors and above, with a 3.0 GPA, who are also pursuing disciplines of interest to NASA to apply. The program allows participants to obtain on-site research experience working side-by-side one of NASA's finest scientists or engineers for a 10-week summer session or 15-week fall or spring session. Although the program generally targets students pursuing science, technology, engineering, or mathematics degrees, there are also a minimal number of opportunities in special project areas such as education, public affairs, government relations, English, journalism, art, history, and photography to name a few. The "Bridge" component of the LARSS program also allows a limited number of rising high school seniors through college sophomore level to apply for consideration if they have a 3.5 GPA and previous NASA program experience (i.e. NASA Governor's School, CHROME, Volunteer Services). The deadline for the summer session is February 1, 2008, fall session is March 6, 2008, and 2009 spring session is October 24, 2008. Questions may be directed to Debbie Murray (Deborah.B.Murray@xxxxxxxx or 757-864-5215, LARSS Program Coordinator, or Sarah Pauls (Sarah.E.Pauls@xxxxxxxx or 757-864-4394), LARSS Administrative Assistant.
