In this regard, the task of this unique peace book presentation arises at
two key UN dates: on the International Days of Peace - on September 21
and
of Non-Violence - on October 2 within special *Spiritual Interfaith
Nonviolence/Harmony Forums around the world with a gift of our Gandhica
book to each participant of these Forums*.
Within the framework of the GHA International Jubilee Gandhi Committee,
briefly GC, plan (https://peacefromharmony.org/?cat=en_c&key=853) I
prepared the relevant proposals of the Russian GC for these dates to its
President, Governor of St. Petersburg and the Consul General of India in
St. Petersburg. Please, see these three brief letters in the attachment,
and they are published together on the “Gandhi's Year Culminations” page

*We invite you to discuss and approve these letters by your YES or NO
during two days (August 3 and 4), so that on Monday (August 5) I can send
them to the recipients. *Their main meaning is to give each GHA member
and each Gandhica co-author an example of its actual and very valuable
advancement in any country, even in the most militaristic one - in the
USA
and in any city where there are different faith-based communities and
where
there are acute problems of interfaith and social harmony. Our Gandhica
offers a breakthrough way to solve them through a harmonious Gandhian
mass
education (Gandhi Nonviolence School, 30 hours for any educational
institution, Gandhica 175-177 p), relevant for all conflicting
communities
and social groups at any level.
I assume that many of you will doubt the success of our proposal in the
prevailing militaristic atmosphere of power, rooted in traditional
democracy. I well understand these doubts, which I share myself. But if
we
are responsible world citizens and responsible peacemakers, if we are
true
supporters of the Gandhi non-violence, religious Divine peace and true
co-authors of our Gandhica, then *we are obligated to fulfill our civic,
spiritual and scientific duty*, recorded in our books and charters. Our
duty is to express our position, despite the position of the authorities,
which, in a number of countries and cities, can support our peacemaking
Gandhian initiatives. We have no right to ignore this, albeit a small
chance, which we will test experimentally with our similar letters. This
is
better than tacitly and passively contributing to the growth of
militarism,
violence, hatred and hostility, the result of which is equally deplorable
for all, without exception. Someone said well that indifference brings us
to the enemies of peace making us its traitors.
We particularly hope for the support of active peacemaking religious
communities, as well as women's, children's and youth organizations, more
than others committed to peace and non-violence. We really hope for the
public support of the most influential religious leader among the
co-authors of Gandhica, *Mr. Daisaku Ikeda, President of the
International Buddhist Organization, Soka Gakkai International*, which
has branches in 192 countries and brings together more than 12 million
Buddhists around the world. They are organizationally capable of
initiating
our proposals in many countries and cities, primarily in Tokyo and Japan
in
a whole, distinguishing by its peacefulness, as well as in India and
other
countries. Buddhists could become global actors and the organizing center
of *the Spiritual Interfaith Nonviolence Forums* around the world that
would make them a global peacemaking leader of the 21st century, which
now
simply does not exist.
We, the GHA, hope that our example will find understanding, support and
implementation of at least some peacemakers in at least several countries
primarily
in India and Russia.
