The Strawberry Union Bank is offering a Money Market Account at 1%, rate
guaranteed through December 31st. $10,00 Minimum deposit
Not great interest, but what is these days. The good part of it is that
it is completely liquid and the rate does not fluctuate during the year.
Better than being locked into a CD. If you already have an account with
them, it must be new money from outside the existing account(s)
Strawberry is a relatively new office for them, and this is a promotion
that is not supposed to be limited to that office. However, a friend who
had accounts at another branch in Marin got her branch to match a similar
offer they had when they opened this branch. I don't know if it would
work now..
