thanks Babette, for this solution.  several times last year, when I went to 
reconcile, the wrong opening balance showed up. I double checked all of my 
resources and the previous month's closing balance, and was completely stymied, 
and it would take me all day to sort through it.  why do the wrong balances 
come in from the bank I wonder?
