Requiring strength and not docility,
Meek asks for inner strength’s ability.
Weak are mighty words and raging deeds;
our lives require more to answer needs.
It takes great courage harnessing our fears
to utilize and channel our hot tears.
Unstopping ears to hear all voices’ cry
enables me to help and where apply.
The strong forbear when passions overflow
containing them to choose which deeds bestow.
I still my word-filled ever-noisy mind
to make receptive more my inner ear
to hear the ever-gentle guidance there
more worthy of my trust in giving care.
Gentle guidance helps to find a path
toward ways that bear less perishable fruit,
assisting me to offer balm for pain
for whose who want their spirit to sustain.
Aligned with these the need for power fades
and offers clearly how one can proceed.
Its power conducts as if a candle’s light
to mightily dispell the blinding night.
Like blocks stacked one by one in youth grown old
our anger, fear, and greed will totter down
enabling us to govern bigotry
and crown our acts with trust implicitly.
