Dear Stephen and GGC, Thank you for the fine description of our Urantia concert day together. Larry and I can still feel all the love and fun that was left in our home. How fortunate we all are to belong to a group that seeks fellowship and believes in a loving universe with a loving father. Sending blessings for a wonderful New Year ahead filled with adventure, wonder, and much love, Elizabeth and Larry From: szendt@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Monday, December 30, 2013 3:33 PM To: ggc-urantialist@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: SPAM-HIGH: [ggc-urantialist] Sometimes . . . a long drive in the car can bring you good things!! Dear GGC folks, I am reporting to you about the Annual Concert in Bonny Doon, where you need to know where you’re going, and following the directions means doing a bit of long-distance driving, for most of us. In the end, it’s all more than worthwhile. Christina Seaborn, the extraordinary violinist, drove for six hours to arrive for the concert, with two passengers, from Fullerton. Sara Blackstock drove south from Benicia. James Woodward came from Placerville. Dave and Chappell Holt came from Concord. There were others from various parts of California. We all had a great time at the Concert. Elizabeth and Larry Jones are generous hosts. Chappell Holt did guitar and vocals. Dave Holt played the baby-grand piano and did vocals, too. Christina fiddled delightfully along with the music, in improvisations and in her own unique style. She even got others from the audience to do sing-along with her. James Woodward and Robert Aponte came into the second half of the program, with their guitars and talents. Plus, there was a guest cameo appearance of Rochelle and Errol Strider, who did their argument about “Peace begins with ME!!” They also shared a touching memorial tribute to Stan Hartman of Colorado, a long-time Urantia Book student known to a number of us, who recently passed on. There were some young folks there who shared some of their music with us, playing and singing. As an extra we were introduced to the man who made such an impression on attendees at Salt Lake City IC-’11, by playing trumpet while the organ performed in the Auditorium. All in all it was a very full Concert, full of gorgeous, even “Rockin’” music, energized by a wide variety of talented musicians and singers. The fellowship and the good food, including some big fine salmon, and a pot of “baked-beans” from Berkeley, were scrumptious and loving. Thanks all around to the Jones and the Holts for being the central organizers, to the musicians who traveled a long way to play, and to the weather for being mild and full of sunshine. We are fortunate indeed to have this opportunity each year. Stephen Zendt, Walnut Creek, CA STEPHEN ZENDT, Operations Analyst II szendt@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx (925) 686-7735 WELLS FARGO BUSINESS DIRECT
