Fellowship General Council
Dear Friends,
There are two "short" seats open on the Fellowship's general council, in
case anyone wishes to join our own Douglas Burns on that deliberative body.
And since I have your eyes, a quick reminder to join us for our first
Golden Gate Circle Community meeting this Saturday at 11:30am! Zoom details
will arrive magically in your inbox later this week.
XOX, Madame Mich

Subject: Invitation to Serve on the Urantia Book Fellowship General
Council
Dear Fellowship Member,
Are you interested in serving as a movement leader on the Fellowship’s
General Council?
There is a lot of work to be done and we are very busy. If you want to
help us execute our purpose and mission to support individual spiritual
growth and connect people together as brothers and sisters to share the
truths of The Urantia Book, we need your help.
We are trying many new approaches and are getting more focused on this
new purpose and mission
https://urantiabook.org/EmailTracker/LinkTracker.ashx?linkAndRecipientCode=k1F3V4NmK2OoEe60%2fI2yApuhHcchuooDe3XQvVqqYlJXBe9hPvcbiu7yKT2HMtrriFW6fEiPIkas7QYj3KqZ%2fDxjK8nl8d%2fi9BxYUPhccmA%3d
. One approach is the new Stepping Stones Program that is creating a website
experience for people unfamiliar with The Urantia Book. The idea is that site
visitors can be introduced to ideas in The Urantia Book and perhaps start
actually reading the book. But if not, the concepts can give them something
that will help their spiritual journey in even a small way.
We know there are many readers with new ideas who can help us make a
difference in the lives of many people who have not yet found The Urantia
Book. If you are interested, please read the information below about the GC
and our hopes for team members. We need your help. Join us and let’s get
creative!
The 36-member General Council (GC) is a deliberative body which guides
the overall direction of The Urantia Book Fellowship. This includes electing
five officers and three service team chairs, which make up the Executive
Committee. The GC also elects chairs of the nine departmental committees and
approves departmental committee members. The GC also has the power to change
the Fellowship's constitution

and by-laws

.
Two Councilor vacancies currently exist. Elections to temporarily fill
these vacancies will be held in February or March 2021. If you are
interested in applying, the official application form will be available on
the Fellowship’s website in early January 2021. These two vacancies, if
filled, will only be effective until July or August 2021. Then the Triennial
Delegate Assembly (TDA) will elect successors to serve the remainder of all
terms which have become vacant since the previous TDA, as well as elect or
re-elect twelve Councilors whose nine-year terms will then be ending. You can
apply for one of these longer term Councilor positions at that time.
Being on the Fellowship’s General Council is an amazing experience. Some
Councilors have served multiple nine-year terms. Lifelong friendships are
established and the beauties of deliberation, group wisdom, and teamwork are
illuminated in remarkable and inspiring ways.

81:6.37 13. Effective and wise leadership. In civilization much, very
much, depends on an enthusiastic and effective load-pulling spirit. Ten men
are of little more value than one in lifting a great load unless they lift
together—all at the same moment.
