Just a quick note to all on some updates. Bob said that if there was enough interest he'd include some rubber tire races in the program. I've seen rubber tired races, and unofficially done some and it's a lot of fun too. With rubber tires, it is not about cardio or stength, but about finesse, being smart and patience. So for thsoe who weren't really interested in going because of the competitive aspect, or not really interested in the work involved with making blade adapters or putting screws in the tires, here's an option :) You just show up with your trike, bent or bike. And yes, two wheeled bikes work fine too. If you have clips on your pedals, there is a funky little one legged pedalling - one leg outrigger technique that can be employed and it's actually faster around corners than a trike is. So, with more class options, more fun for all :) Even the ones with specific ice racers built, can bring their rubber tired HPVs. 2 wheelers can also be easily adapted with a blade on the front. Bert has done it, and here's a link with a couple other examples. http://oddwidget.com/~mnhpva/ice/ice2002/Ice7.html =========================================================== This is the Georgian Bents' Mailinglist To view list archives and to change your user preferences, go to //www.freelists.org/list/georgianbents Listmaster: 25hz@xxxxxxxxxx To unsubscribe send an empty mail to georgianbents@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with 'unsubscribe' in the subject field. ===========================================================
