Yo Larry! :)

Yeah, I checked out all the results back a few years. I'm only worried
about the guys who average 30mph for 50 miles :) After I get the
different bents squared away for racing, I'm making a back to back,
lowracer, dual wheel drive tandem. You and I are going to go down there
next year and race it and stomp some you-know-what and show them what's
what. So, make sure the date is cleared up next year and you've got 13
months to get ready, so no excuses. You've been warned.

Seriously though, even if I come dead last, I'm pretty sure I'll still
have a blast and at the very worst, it'll spur me to ride more and train
harder for next time. I'm serious about the tandem thing with you and
me though . . . Come to think of it, maybe we can go down to Calvins in
May '09 and set the 12 hour tandem record too. Yeah, that'd be a great
warm-up for Waterford later in the summer!

hi Tim

went to the Waterford recumbent race site. there was a guy that averaged
25mph. for a 50 mile race.

thats 40kms for us metrics. do you really want to go to this.

out of breath just thinking of it.

Subject: [georgianbents] Coming events

Hi all

I put a webpage up with the annual events at the GB site:
http://georgianbents.ca/events%20annual.htm

Again, it's not complete by far, but the other events can be added and
then the dates can just be updated yearly. 9 times out of ten, the
months are the same, it's just the day that changes by one or two.

The Ride for the Rouge in Toronto is coming up this weekend. Great
ride, nice people, only 20 bucks. Unfortunately a hitherto unknown . .
"critical engagement" means I likely won't be able to do the ride as
planned, but Jun will be there to hold the 'bent torch high for us, plus
any others available. I think Pat was planning to have a bent BBQ
sometime in May, but not sure if the date was nailed down yet. ?

There's the BIG event coming up soon too I think in Toronto, and then
the next biggie after that is the Ride for heart on the DVP and Gardiner
Expressway. It's a blast and still only $40 to register and that's on
June 1st. I registered for the 50km normal start so hopefully we can
have a bunch more bents as there were a few there last year.

On the upside, it looks like I'll be able to go to Waterford this year
so I'm really looking forward to seeing all the bents and racers I've
been reading about and looking at pictures of for the last 4 or 5 years.
Maybe some of the southern Ontario gang will be going as well? Like
Oracle, Jim, Carey, and Reg? Might be a prime opportunity for Ray to
show them how well some of his velos go too, yes? :) Maybe with some
more exposure and some more bent owners by this time next year, we can
re-convince (is that a word??) Midweek to include bents in the CHIN
program. I found ome web movies of the CHIN picnic and I'll track dwon
the link again for them and add them to teh events page at the GB site.
