Well, we all met up at the Portland, MO Katy Trail trailhead and set off for the island. The walk there was mostly uneventful, save for some good conversation. We exited the trail, made our way through the woods and down the dirt bank to the land bridge. Once we got down to the land bridge to the island, there was a bit of water flowing over a low spot in the land bridge...maybe about 6-8" worth. Using some teamwork and some good old fashioned muscle, we constructed a path of stepping stones across the water's expanse. We crossed over and made our way to the cache, which was found quickly. Sarah even deployed a Munzee on the island. We made our way back across, up the bank, through the woods and back on the Katy Trail. Fun was had by all. Did I leave out anything? -Michael ________________________________ From: Susan Ring <susanmring@xxxxxxx> To: geocaching@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Sunday, January 8, 2012 10:22 AM Subject: [GeoStL] Tate Island Stories? - So guys, any good stories from yesterday? I soooo wanted to go along but couldn't, so I'm looking for a little vicarious adventure. (Although I got a little adventure on Friday on my first caching trip to West Tyson. Woo, I think my poor old body has recovered now) Susan **************************************** For List Info or To make _ANY_ changes to your account, including unsubscribing from this list, click -----> //www.freelists.org/list/geocaching Missouri Caches Scheduled to be Archived http://tinyurl.com/87cqw Missouri Geocaching land policies --> http://tinyurl.com/lgyy84 Missouri Geocachers Forums --> http://mogeo.ipbhost.com/index.php Missouri Geocachers Calendar ---> http://mogeo.ipbhost.com/index.php?app=calendar
