Jim Westbound Boone Bridge lanes closing for inspection ST. LOUIS POST-DISPATCH 09/25/2008 Westbound Highway 40 between Long Road in Chesterfield and Highway 94 in St. Charles County is scheduled to be closed this weekend to allow crews to inspect the Boone Bridge over the Missouri River. The westbound lanes will be closed from 5:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, the Missouri Department of Transportation said. The ramps from Chesterfield Airport Road and Boone's Crossing to westbound Highway 40 also will be closed. <IMG SRC=" http://oascentral.stltoday.com/RealMedia/ads/Creatives/Postnet/BigAdStCharles300x250-022207/tile_ad.gif"; WIDTH=300 HEIGHT=250 BORDER=0> MoDOT said the closure is needed to allow inspectors to complete the annual Boone Bridge examination and to carry out a federal recommendation to inspect all truss bridges in the U.S. That inspection is mandated because of the Interstate 35W bridge collapse in Minneapolis last year.
