True if you read all the posts online, you don't have to deal with the ads if 
you recieve the single emails or daily digest you only encounter them then when 
you read the message online.  But I do realize this would be a hassle for those 
that read the post only on the web.  
 
Also yahoo groups have more issues with spammers but that isn't hard to control 
if you have it set to approve new members and it's not an automatic approval to 
join.
