Thanks for the comment about Dayspring Centre. I passed it to my DiL who
home schools my grandcritters.

We (that's a "loose" use of the word "we" I might add) did home school (and
went to DaySpring Centre for Arts and Education -- AWESOME resource for
home schoolers!) until my husband
was offered a new position with his old company here in the middle of
nowhere aka central Illinois. He moved here, to Effingham, Il in Sept. '08
and my daughter and I gave up and joined him about year ago. She started
6th grade right before Christmas '08 in "public" school in a little town
called Teutopolis. And .. oh what a town it is. Population 1200
(Effingham
has 12,000 -- wooo hooo), ONE Catholic church, and 6 bars. The public grade
school is physically owned by the Catholic church and leased by the school
district, thereby making it possible to hold daily religion classes in
grade school. It kind of makes my head spin to think about it too much.
Although, in the long run it's not been a totally awful experience for a
first-time "real" school experience. This year is "middle school" and so
far.. so good. Although, there are times we miss the luxury of home
school and being able to really get into something, she's also very much
enjoying yearbook, and band and honors band and volleyball and student
council and fundraisers and PE class and farming and making high honors
honor roll. (More than anyone needed to know, but.. a mom's got to brag
when given the slightest opportunity lol)
