Ok, so what does the icon look like? You have not logged any yet! And when are you going to create some Whereigo cartridges? I just looked and there are none within a 50 mile radius of my zip code! Ya need to get busy!!! ;-) :-P Sarah ----- Original Message ---- From: Dan Baldenweck <harp8n@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: geocaching@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Saturday, February 23, 2008 7:28:57 AM Subject: [GeoStL] Re: NCR? Wherigo.com As of this week, Wherigo has it's own icon on Geocaching.com and placement guidelines for caching. So it really is caching related! WherigoTM Cache Wherigo is a toolset for creating and playing GPS-enabled adventures in the real world. Among other uses, it allows geocachers to interact with virtual objects and characters triggered by entering special locations or zones, making the geocache hunt an even richer experience. WherigoTM Caches A Wherigo geocache uses your Wherigo cartridge to lead you ultimately to the physical geocache location. The cartridges must reside at Wherigo.com. If a cartridge is used as a requirement to find a geocache, it is considered a Wherigo cache, regardless of whether it may also have a puzzle or multi-cache component. Cache saturation applies only to physical containers, and not virtual elements. Standard geocaching guidelines apply. A device that can play Wherigo is not considered special equipment. ----- Original Message ---- From: Hobbit Taz - charter <hobbittaz@xxxxxxxxxxx> To: geocaching@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Friday, February 22, 2008 8:18:38 PM Subject: [GeoStL] Re: NCR? Wherigo.com - WHERIGO: If memory serves Correctly (some days it doesn't) Wherigo gives you a "computerized" game such a mystery to solve. You go to the starting "waypoint" and your unit will call up the 1st clue, information on the location, etc. sort of like This is where the murder happened.... From that you will have to solve for the next point(s). Once you are correct it may give you some other puzzles or locations, until you "Find the path" required to solve the case or win the game. These can be murder mysteries, 007 spy games, maze type hunts. at least I believe that is what this is, since I don't have a wherigo enabled gps or pocket PC with GPS, I think it will be a little time before I can try this myself.
